Radon test monitors (CRM) used in Naples, Bonita Springs, Ft Myers, Estero or anywhere in Florida are required to be calibrated once a year.

Expensive equipment such as Femto- tech and Radalink radon monitors are leased by inspectors so the manufacture covers the annual calibration costs. Many home inspectors purchase the less costly monitors and are responsible for the calibration.  Naples and Florida consumers should make sure their radon test was performed with a monitor with up to date calibration.  It is easy for the testing company to fax or email copy of calibration to client.

Person placing or picking up your radon test MUST be certified to do so by the FL DOH (Florida law).

Elevated radon levels are common in the Naples and Ft Myers area

Collier county home sellers and homebuyers (Naples, Golden Gate, Marco Island) who have a radon test result with an elevated radon level should understand that Collier County requires a permit for the radon mitigation system.  Do you really want electrical work performed in your home and not have it inspected. Unfortunately many sellers hire a radon mitigation business that avoids the permitting. They have lots of excuses, consumers should call the county.  Homebuyers should demand a copy of the required permits, when buying a home with a radon mitigation system.
