Homeowners should be aware of some of the following conditions that require regular monitoring .

We recommend weekly monitoring of your home which prevents small problems from becoming costly repairs.

  • Sink and Tub Traps need to have water in them at all times to prevent sewer gas from entering the home .
  • Vandalism can be a problem but, elevated indoor humidity levels seem to be more costly to absentee homeowners .
  • University of Florida tells us indoor humidity levels should be below 60% to prevent possible mold growth.
  • Monitoring of Lawn Maintenance , pool service, and cleaning services are very essential.
  • Lawns can be destroyed by chinch bugs, poor irrigation chemical intrusion from chlorine from pool draining .
  • Trees and bushes need regular maintenance to prevent damage to windows and home through the hurricane season and high winds common in our area.
  • Outdoor furniture and or cushions should be stored inside to prevent mold growth.
  • Cars need to be started to prevent seals from drying out and creating oil leaks.
  • Car Air conditioners should be operated periodically .
  • Cars left sitting outdoors need to be moved to prevent dry rot of tires (flat spots)
